Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a world leader in high-performance network security – today announced the company’s FortiMail™ email security solution has earned the VBSpam+ certification from Virus Bulletin, a leading security magazine, based on the software’s high spam catch rate and zero false positives. This is FortiMail’s 24th consecutive Virus Bulletin Antispam award.
Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiMail along with 19 other antispam products from multiple countries for spam catch rates and false positive rates. In addition to winning its 24th consecutive award, the report noted that FortiMail had zero false positive out of 13,563 legitimate and spam emails processed by the appliance.
“FortiMail has a VBSpam history going back as far as June 2009,” said Martijn Grooten, antispam test director for Virus Bulletin. “Since then, FortiMail has edged very close to winning a VBSpam+ award several times – and on this occasion it finally managed to do so. The product’s high catch rate makes it one of the highest performing solutions available.”
“Our engineers are constantly striving towards making the best email security appliances in the industry, and it’s great to see their hard work being recognized today with VBSpam+ certification,” said John Maddison, vice president of marketing for Fortinet. “Third party validations from esteemed publications such as Virus Bulletin are critical for our customers and partners, as they help them make better informed buying decisions.”
